Cartwright became married in 1976 to Steve Gullion. The couple's two kids are called Angela and Steve. Bonanza was the first Western broadcast in color. It told the story of a fictional ranching family called the Cartwrights. They were from Nevada in the early 1880s, near Virginia City, which was a mining boomtown.
