Zoe Saldana's parents, Asalia and Aridio Saldana were born on the 19th of June 1978, in Passaic New Jersey. The father of Zoe Saldana is Dominican as is her mother Puerto Rican. Her parents raised her in Queens, New York. When she was 10 years young the family moved to the Dominican Republic, where they would live for the next seven years. As they remained in the country, Zoe discovered a keen interest in performance dance and began her training at the world-class ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy where she learned ballet, as well as various other dance forms. The lessons she learned were not only a great outlet for an energetic, eager child, but was also the perfect precursor for her acting career as a professional.
